They’ve eliminated birds and dogs… maybe Tad1’s crayfish ought to apply.

This reminds me of an “idiot test” I have seen. It lists a bunch of things for you to do. The first thing on the list is to read all the directions before doing anything. Then it lists things like putting your name in the corner, followed by other directions. The final instruction is to do only the first item on the list. You fail the test if you do anything other than read the directions.

    Today is:

National Book Lover’s Day. Perfect! I love books and I am going to a library book sale today before work.

    National Veep Day

    National Rice Pudding Day.

I got to my garden yesterday. I picked 3 carrots, 6 ears of corn (I’ve beat the raccoons so far. I hope that trend continues), about 8 green beans (but they’re blooming again so I hope for more beans in a week or two) and just over one pound cherry tomatoes. I counted around a dozen watermelons – two are nearly full-sized, but they aren’t ripe yet. They probably need 1-2 more weeks. I have 2 or 3 really HUGE butternut squash out there, but they’re not ripe yet either. There are also smaller squash, but those big buggers actually made me exclaim, “Holy cow!” So the garden is doing very well. The weeds are doing pretty well too.

I think these cats need to run their own hotel.

I think one of these poochies should lift a leg on the corner of Lily’s desk…….

    BBEAR’s Friday posts:

I no longer have a cat. In May 2005 a litter of mixed breed Maine Coon kittens was born in a barn in southeastern Ohio. Two of them were given to my mom who was then 77 years old.

She kept the one in front and named him Tabby. His sister was returned to the barn. Tabby kept my mom good company up until her death. He was so attached to her that he roamed the house searching for her mournfully crying for months. I moved in and promised him to look after him.

He grew into a beautiful 13 pound indoor cat. Until three weeks ago when his life took a turn for the worse. He stopped eating. Period. He would get on my lap and look at me for help. (I think) He slept by my head last two nights. Something he never did.

This morning I took him to the vets and was petting and talking to him when he drew his last breath.

Poor little Scottie. One of my neighbors has a Scottie dog , and it’s one of the friendliest and cutest animals I have ever seen.
