You may remember that a while back, I won the pumpkin decorating contest at work. My prize was a gift card for 5 free car washes at Kwik Trip. Not many Kwik Trip stations around here have car washes, but a new Kwik Trip just opened up last year right next door to the vet and they do have a car wash. So after I picked up some pills for Lovebug, I tried out the car wash. Oh, was that awesome! I didn’t know how to work the gift card or use the car wash, so I went inside the store to ask a few questions before setting out to use it. My card is for the “ultimate” car wash, which sprays the undercarriage of your car as you enter the car wash. The “ultimate” car wash costs $10, so that makes my gift card worth $50! Quite the prize when I only spent around $5 for materials to decorate my pumpkin (and yes, I did put some coins in my jar to vote for my own pumpkin. But I voted for a couple other pumpkins too, with a few spare pennies I had).
First, you drive in slowly until you feel the car go into a little dip and a sort of horn honks at you telling you to stop. It is spraying the under side of your car as you enter. When you hit the dip, you put your car in “park”. Then the car gets soaped up and it moves your car forward and back and forward and back – a few times. It was fun! Later, it gives you a green light and you drive out slowly while the blowers dry your car.
I had a choice between the “touchless” or the “soft touch” wash. I asked the cashier in the store which was better. He said people say things they like and dislike about both but he uses the touchless himself, so that’s what I tried today. I liked it, but I’ll probably try the soft touch next time so I can judge for myself which is better. I can hardly wait for my car to get dirty again so I can use the car wash again!
