Our Gov issued a mandate this afternoon. Everybody has to wear a mask in public! Finally a voice of reason. And that means all the tourists, especially in the Casinos. Yay!
National Leon Day. National Leon Day marks June 25th as six months away from Christmas day. Leon is Noel spelled backward and is a day some crafters begin planning their homemade gifts and decorations. It can also be a day for those who miss the winter holidays to have a mini winter celebration in June.
National Catfish Day
National Bomb Pop Day
National Handshake Day. These days, that’s a no-no. You have to do a virtual “handshake” from a distance.
National Strawberry Parfait Day. I can’t do that today because I don’t have any strawberries. I do hope to buy some on Friday, though. I tried to get some at a local farm on Tuesday, but he wasn’t picking that day. So I left my name & phone number and got on a waiting list. He called last night and said he could not provide berries for me on Thursday because he had so many on hold for other people. But by Friday, I’m on the top of the list (in fact, the only one on the list because he isn’t taking any more orders since he’s near the end of the berry season), so I can get berries before going to work on Friday. Yippee!
It’s also PAYDAY!!! And we are getting an extra $300 bonus ($150 for part-time workers) for working through the pandemic. This is our second $300 bonus. It really helps the paycheck look good!
Our governor discovered that the commissioner of his public health bureau was making up numbers and reporting them to pass on to the public in his daily TV reports. Boy was he furious. She “resigned” yesterday. Our numbers are even lower than reported. Now, if idiots would stop bringing Covid-19 back from their Carolina beach vacations. Sigh.
Lots of the young folks figure the virus won’t impact “them” too much. Just maybe when they could pass it along to their parents and grandparents. Sad.
Just like Wile E. Coyote! LOOK OUT BELOW! On another note, saw some robins while out walking today. I also saw an eagle outside and a rabbit on the way to the Library. The library in my area reopened, albeit with some safety precautions. ( Six foot rule, curbside pick up.) I made sure to wear my mask while there. Picked up my requests. It was great to be back at the library, even if I couldn’t actually go in.

Graham, thanks for all that you are doing to remind us of what we as humans, should be doing to stay safe and be mindful of others.
