They make dandy frisbees too! To the kitties the 40s and 50s are back in the dark ages. I would think they would love the 50s composer who had Tropical bird calls in his sTuff. Eldo? I can’t remember his name.
I remember back when they put records on some cereal boxes. They really played, too. We got a few of those records, but I don’t know whatever happened to them. I hadn’t even thought about those things for years and years.
Black Cat Appreciation Day. I love black cats. The last one I had was Pest – a very sweet, loving cat. He died in 1999 at age 16 (kidney failure). I don’t have any black cats now, but I have a couple “tuxedo” cats.
National Nonprofit Day
National Thrift Shop Day. I like shopping in thrift stores.
National I Love My Feet Day. I love having feet! But I hate wearing shoes. I like running around in bare feet.
I still have a record player and records. I can see them from here. Play them? Never was a member of the “analog sounds better” cult. With software, I can make digital music sounds pretty much how I like it.
I go back to the 1920s and 30s. Benny Goodman’s “Sing, sing, sing (with a swing)”, in either the 1937 studio version (8’43") or the 1938 Carnegie Hall version (12’30") is still the most amazing thing ever.
I like a lot of classic, vintage songs. (To be honest, I like any music as long as it sounds good.) Those old tunes have a nice, wonderful charm to them. I’ve bought records every now and then at antique stores and thrift shops. Unfortunately, I don’t have anything to play them on. There is a record player in my house that belonged to my grandmother, but the sound doesn’t work. Oh well, at least I can listen to music online. On another note (no pun intended. Well, maybe a little), saw three rabbits while out walking today.
Most of my records and my record player (Cosby, also) I have given to my daughter. Having been a hippie folksinger, I can still pull out my Martin guitar and entertain myself…but not for long, as my left hand finger calluses are long gone.

I like most music, from rap to Motown, 80’s and 90’s to the songs from the 40’s and 50’s.

I’d be really careful letting Chesney (Mr. Destructo) touch Grandad’s records, Annie.
