On my coast, we have lots of military flyovers, mainly guys in heliocopters leaning out in hopes of babes in bikinis, but they seemed happy enough to see my golden retriever. (So, sorry, Chesney, no bombs on dogs.) One winter day, I actually saw a stealth bomber practically hovering it was going so slow and low before the government even admitted to having them.

Sorry, Chesney, but I think you’re asking just a little too much from Annie this time. With the pandemic, I know Wisconsin is letting people get a driver’s license without a road test. I just renewed my driver’s license online so I didn’t need to do the vision test or stand in line waiting to renew. Maybe if Annie lied about her age she could get a driver’s license without ever going to the DMV. But growing a mustache might take a while.

Today is:

Robert in assembly has my bike working better for me. The tires were a little too low on air. The chain guard was bent & dented so it rubbed on a pedal. He adjusted the handlebar so the bike fits me better. The chain was fine, but he lubed it a little. It was too dark to really test my bike when I got home from work last night, but I did take a quick spin around the block and it seemed to be better than it was. I still intend to take my 44-year old 3-speed bike to him this afternoon. I always loved that bike. Maybe I can take up bike riding again. I used to ride a lot and I have a lot of miles on that old bike. But these past 20 years or so, I haven’t ridden much.

I’ve gotten 3 bids from roofers. I’m leaning strongly towards the Amish guy who would put on a metal roof. He would do my entire house or just a little more than the other 2 would charge for doing half of the house with asphalt shingles. A fourth roofer I had contacted never came to see my roof (he was supposed to come on the 17th) so he’s pretty much out of the running. Actually, both bids for shingles were lower than I had anticipated (based on bids I got 2 years ago to do the entire house) and both were close in cost. But I really don’t want to do shingles which I may need to redo in 20 years.

Not having a license wouldn’t stop Chesney.

My contact here is going to become sporadic. My life has become a dumpster fire in crisis mode. I have a 57 year old brother who was forcibly retired after 3 stints in rehab. None of which took. His brain is so fried that he can’t be trusted to remember to lock the door in my shady neighborhood. I follow him picking up things he leaves behind (phone, keys, dishes, coffee cups). And I am his last and final hope.
