National Devil Dog Day. This isn’t about evil dogs. The day honors the service members dubbed with the nickname and the devilish snack cake. With a layer of cream filling sandwiched between two layers of devil’s food cake, Devil Dogs became a tasty single-serving treat in the mid-1920s. Drake’s first started making the cakes in 1926.
National Babe Ruth Day
National Prime Rib Day
National Tell a Story Day. I’m finally starting the process working to get it published some day. The story of Wanda Weir (the mean girls call her Wanda Weird). A young girl who lives in a small town in Wisconsin, with her parents and her pesky younger brother who is constantly asking riddles. They also have a dog and 2 kittens. A girl who is teased and made fun of by some cruel girls. A girl who often escapes in daydreams (and is always getting caught by her teacher while daydreaming in school). A girl with a secret crush on a boy in her class. How does Wanda cope with the cruel girls who tease her and call her names? Fingers crossed my book with be published sometime this year. I have a lot to learn in the process, but I’m working with a friend who is a published author. She wrote a book called Dog Island (I haven’t read it yet).
