The painters started on the kitchen today. I talked them into uncovering the refrigerator and toaster oven for me before they left for the day. I hauled out my 60 year old electric frying pan and made my dinner in that. Salmon, green beans and mashed potatoes. I knew there was a reason I’ve never thrown it away! I dont have access to the sink or dishwasher tho, so I washed my dishes in the bathroom sink. Pretty proud of myself! ( the potatoes were left over from yesterday).
I’ve been able to touch the kittens without any of them trying bite me (though they still hiss a lot), so yesterday morning, I decided that it was time to open their cage and let them explore the house. I probably should have done it a week ago. But, anyway, they have been having a blast, climbing the cat tree (which goes almost to the ceiling, climbing the living room curtains, jumping around on the couch, sitting in the window and just running and jumping around. I left the cage door open, but so far as I have seen, they haven’t chosen to go back in. But maybe they did while I was at work. Somehow, I doubt that. So, after I clean it up, I’m going to return the crate to Cecelia, the person who loaned it to me. I’ll do that on Thursday.
Meanwhile, even though it hasn’t quite been 10 days yet, I deemed it “close enough” and I took the cone off poor Annie’s head. She didn’t make it easy for me, as she hates to be touched, but her cone is off and I hope she’ll be a little less miserable.
Oh yeah, I was able to grab onto the tortoise shell kitten when I got home from work last night and she purred for me again. Things are looking up!
Such a rant he is on!! Yesterday my laptop went black and after nearly an hour on the phone with Apple tech, they decided it was likely the hard drive and it would be replaced at no cost. Just for fun this morning I hit the power button and it came on with a message that it had restarted after a problem was detected. I called tech and they suggested I still send it in as this will likely happen again. But at least I can see Ten Cats today on a big screen.
I use a product called Dental Fresh Water Additive for Cats, (for dogs too) Original Formula, 8 oz – Bad Breath Treatment for Cats – Add to Water Bowl to Whiten Teeth and Eliminate Bad Breath – Cat Teeth Cleaning to Improve Oral Health.
My Oliver had bad breath about 6 months before Maxie passed.(Maxie dog’s breath was worse). This additive worked like a charm. Other products hadn’t. I put it in their water bowls daily, with ice cubes…they are attracted to the cubes!
Good comeback, Annie. Weird how Chesney sounds like a 30s gangster, but the again, this IS Chesney. On another note, saw three juncos and a rabbit while out walking today.
