During the past few days, you may have heard Queen of America write about a wee almost-newborn kitten found in San Antonio by Dana, the husband of her friend Deb.
The back story , from QoA:
“My friend’s husband Dana was working down in San Antonio and heard a kitten crying. No mama or siblings around, about 3 weeks old. Starving! He took her to the hotel (after stopping for supplies and KMR) and set up a big bin with a litter box, water and a stuffed toy.
Dana, Deb and I spent the week trying to find a spot for this kitten at one of the shelters there — no room in the Inns. By now, the kitten had a new daddy she’s bonded with.
He canceled his flight (kittens have to be 8 weeks old to fly, and this little girl is about 3) and rented a car to drive back to southern UT. He had her at the hotel with him for 5 days by now. He was feeding her by hand — he’s been doing this for years so knows what he’s doing — and then started to transition her to goopy, mushy food. This way he won’t have to stop as often to feed the little one.
They made it home last night. I asked Deb if I could share the pictures with my cat group (here, at Ten Cats), including the ones of Dana.
First photo is of when he (Dana) found this wee kitten. He got a bin, litter box, etc, and made a nest with a stuffed toy. She was pretty loud and squawky until he fed her.

Home at last with a full tummy. I (QoA) can see the difference in just what – 5 days?

Deb said she still gets her bottle and will for another two weeks. She sees the vet next Wednesday"
Back to my own comments …Ohhh, so cute! And what a difference a few days made on the wee one! Linking to the photos worked for me using the Neil Wicks functions. OR, copy the link and place into Google Address (Top) Bar (NOT in the search bar).
