When I was a child, our cat was so terrorized by the blue jays that he would never cross the yard. He just slunk around in the bushes where they couldn’t get at him.
I was sitting on my deck where I could watch (from a distance) a nest of Blue Jays. One of the parents whapped me on the back of my head even though I was far from the nest. Needed a Tylenol after that. Blue Jays are evil!

I had a partially glassed-in balcony. When a bird slammed into the glass, Kirby would go out and check whether it was on the inside or the outside.
