Once again, so far, this isn’t in the list of works, attributed to this artist, in Mr. Melcher’s blog. A slightly-different-coloration, click-to-enlarge image can be found here (Bing translated).Portrait of Zaporozhian Cossack (link shows descriptive Wikipedia page) isn’t, as far as I can tell, shown online by its current-location (Google translated). The attributed artist’s Wikipedia page (Bing translated Russian Wikipedia page has more) and collection (more under Subcategories).Third, of the other 3 works (list link above), attributed to this artist, that have, so far, appeared in Mr. Melcher’s blog, to also appear here (4 total). But, this is actually by Konstantin Makovsky (note the K, not W, in the signature at painting’s top right); his Wikipedia page and collection (more under Subcategories at each level).Perhaps Mr. Melcher was overly influenced by this current mis-attribution.Funny thing, that website used to have it correct; but, that page apparently got moved to the current URL. Maybe it’ll be moved back when you see this.Wikimedia currently has it correct. So far, no work by him has appeared in Mr. Melcher’s blog.

This is totally off subject (and may have been raised before) but what would Mr. Melcher do with a Picasso, to say nothing of a Rothko or Pollock?
