The Beatles recording (cover) of that song had John singing lead. He had a sore throat and could only do one take, which is the one you hear. You can also tell that he had a sore throat. I remember thinking that when I first heard it in second grade, and later read it in a book about the Beatles. I was surprised that I had been correct!
