Gladys: Okay, Mr. Wise Guy, I get your point...
Gladys: My roast beef is a little tough, I admit it...
Gladys: So put that thing away and just carve the roast already!
Must be a rump roast. Chuck roast slow cooked in a crock pot is best. We started with chuck roast as it was cheaper. Then as things got a little better, she switched to rump roast. I knew it was tougher but didn’t say anything. Then a few years ago, my wife cooked a chuck roast as they had it on sale. I remarked how this was like the good roasts she used to make. She wondered why I quit raving about the roasts.Now all we have is chuck roast.
