In the Navy, I asked the disbursing officer why they bothered to serve liver & onions one every 2 weeks since no one ate it (there was hot dogs as an alternative but you had to get on the mess line early). His reply, “They’re good for you.” “Not if you don’t eat it.” I said.
The liver is a filter – can’t eat it for that reason alone. And liver and onions will make me gag and dry heave like a son of a gun. Disgusting smell that would gag a maggot.

I agree…..cooked correctly liver and onions can be delicious. The problem, of course, with that little detail of “correctly”!

There are plenty of healthy foods to feed to children. There is no reason to force then to eat foods they hate.
