Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Why worry?? Whatâs going to happen will happen and one person canât effect the outcome, in most cases!! Turn on a DVD/BD player and watch a good movie, instead!!
Iâve watched a lot of MSNBC since Jan 6. I didnât sleep much then, but on the whole Iâll take it over the local news. I sleep better now, but it doesnât hurt to get a little lubricated when you canât sleep.
I bet there have been a ton of sleep deprived people this past year. I know I was. Especially from November through January. But the vaccine rollout is gaining momentum and things are looking up. With the dramatic decrease of cases and deaths among the 65+ age group (my group) we have the strongest evidence yet that the vaccines work. Itâs been over two weeks since my second shot and Iâm sleeping better.
There are all sorts of video streaming things out there. Netflix, Disney, HULU, any one of them would be a great alternative to network news. Cat videos on YouTube if you are really desperate. (Tell Brutus to watch the Mentos and diet coke guys.)
While in college they would have reruns of Twilight Zone, Night Gallery and Outer Limits on at 10;30 or 11:00. I loved to watch them but would then have to watch Johnny Carson before I could go to sleep. I have always wondered how people like Rod Serling could sleep at night.
You know, I usually skip the late news except for the weather forecast. At night, Iâm watching an old TV series like West Wing or Deep Space Nine, on DVD, so I let the series go into the news segment and stop it in time to see the weather portion. Understand, I watch a lot of network news at 6 and 7pm as well as what utube news I can glean during the afternoon.
So stop watching the news. Hereâs the trick to forecasting the news shows. Think of any scenario and then think of it in the worst possible light, with nothing redeemable and every event supposedly caused by absolute evil intent. There â youâve just heard how itâll be presentedâŠ. if presented at all. Now, no need to watch.

I gave that up years ago. Watching Carol Burnett re-runs is the better deal.

Brutus, you just have to remember that for the mass media, âif it bleeds, it leadsâ. Bad news gets eyeballs to the screen and ensures ratings. ;D

Turn that crap off Brutus. Thereâs no meaningful content to it.

When watching news becomes a nuisance, turn off the TV, read a book for a little while.

Almost always watch a rerun sitcom before bed. Bed time is between 12;30 and 1 am. all so I will still be awake when the ball drops on New Years Eve.
