Superman: What is the big deal about leaping over tall buildings in a single bound? I can fly.
He didn’t start flying until the Fleischer cartoon series. The leaping looked stupid in the animation tests, so they just decided to let him fly instead. But the whole “Faster than a speeding bullet…. Look! Up in the sky!….” bit had already started with the radio series (with the same voice cast, by the way), and was then carried over to the old TV series.
