Guess you need cheesy pick-up lines when there’s more than meets the eye.

second to last one doesn´t work – it would have to be “good bot, bad bot”.

Eh, there’s plenty* of TFs with identifiable Earth alt-modes that are Fords, though. The problem is that seems to be Optimus Prime, who’s not ever actually been a Ford (A Freightliner, a Western Star, a Dodge, and a bunch of ‘no particular make’.)
Alternators Grimlock, Wheeljack, Mirage, and Rodimus, just to stick to the G1 universe. Probably some actual G1, too, but I can’t find a listing of G1 toys by their alt-mode’s make.JB10000Lakes over 11 years ago

The Chicago Tribune didn’t run this strip for no reason and ran instead an Argyle Sweater comic strip from April 22, 2011!
Darryl Heine over 11 years ago
The comics editior of the Chicago Tribune said the strip didn’t meet its standards so that’s why the April 22, 2011 Argyle Sweater strip was rerun instead.

“Fix Or Repair Daily”-I’ve had mostly Fords (Pintos and Aerostars included!) with a beautiful Jeep CJ5 tossed in to the mix… I loved them all. Right now, I have a Windstar, and she (I name my cars) gets me around safely, and whole. Maybe I’m just lucky with cars, though. Hard to tell.

Corvair… or Mustang. No hard choice there, is there? I’ve driven both, and helped to restore a few of each. Mustang wins… until the 70s, but Corvair was dead by then — and Mustang did a “phoenix” several years ago when Ford got it’s head out of wherever they’d placed it and made it a Mustang again. Right?

Instead of Optimus Prime who is too regal to say such things, it should have been the arrogant Sunstreaker whose alt mode is a yellow 1974 Lamborghini.
