Thank you, Lennie … I was in a couple of abusive relationships. Thank goodness, my husband and I found each other, even half a world apart, and 17 years apart in age (I’m older). I still can’t handle loud voices, though I’ve gotten better at not visibly cringing at them :/
Women beating/abusing husbands and other animals are far from rare. Ignoring this fact is encouragement. The implication that it goes one way hurts society.
The worse part of it though, is when a person escapes such abuse how many people will come out of the woodwork to say “I always suspected something was wrong but didn’t want to say anything.” See something, say something! Even if it is just a suspicion niggling in the back of your head, say something!

Yoga helps. It gives confidence and that is the scariest thing a bully has to face.
