Oh, come on now. 5K runs are fine things… assuming their YOUR thing. If you’re not a runner of any sort, it’d be pretty tricky to chug along that far without some kind of rabid threat behind you.
I was driving past the tail end of a 5K/charity/marathon thing once. These three little ladies were the final runners (the truck was following them, picking up traffic cones from the race as the three passed each one.) and one woman tossed up her hands and quit ‘running’ to start walking. Her ‘running’ gait was tiny little stamping movements, so when she started walking, her stride opened up- and she sped up. I don’t think she noticed that she’d been running slower than she walked, but it was hilarious to us. Moral of the story? Just walk the thing. It’s all cool.
Why? The 5K only brings in around 5 thousand runners. Why not the 10K with 55,000 of our closest friends? (and the 10 K is fine with the shambling walkers since only the first 1,000 or so actually run).

Like asking if you want to donate 1/3 of your paycheck to government charity .

I’ve been trying lately, to walk 10,000 steps a day.I usually get 6000-8000 which is around 5km or so a day...Moral of the story: I’m lazy.

I’ve always said, I’ll only run if chased.

4-7/8 K? That should be 4.875 km. (My 7th grade teacher would be so proud.)

Eighths aren’t in the metric spirit! I’d rather ask, “Do you have an ax murderer who can only run 4,999 meters?”-Cougar :{)
