Okay, you can do your science fair project on how video games affect your brain. Yay! But you can't be the test subject. What? You have to design the before and after tests, the variables, and plot the results. But... And Eddie will play the video games. My conclusion is unless you're the lab rat, science reeks.

Toby must work. Guess he didn’t realize the researcher doesn’t get to have any fun.

Being the lab rat isn’t necessarily fun, either, depending on the study. I quit going to the GI specialist after I felt like I was his lab rat. Last visit there were at least 3 doctors in the exam room while he explained the next test he wanted me to go through. After Googling information about the test, I decided enough was enough. I’ve been through a lot of medical tests for other body areas since then, but the GI tests were the worst I’ve experienced.

When I was in lab research 29 years ago I injected half of our rats with a drug that caused diabetes, then when they were grown would knock them out with choral hydrate, cut them open, connect tubes to their colons, and run a solution of radioactive calcium through to see how much of it they absorbed.

I’m getting to the point where I can’t decide whether to write fewer or MORE Toby cartoons. I truly look forward to giving Harold the good excuse to bring out his catchphrase. I get a laugh out of it every time now.

Sorry Toby.

From what I hear, being Alpha or Beta testers for a video game isn’t all that great. It’s only fun when it’s a game of your choice and the time spent playing it is also your choice. And oh, BTW, this is for Greg: “I hate that kid!” :-)

That’s how it is I’m afraid, Toby.

You shouldn’t be surprised, Toby. Including yourself in the study might bias the results.
Maybe. Or something like that.
