    I’ve honestly never understood this stereotypical response to needing to educate your kids.

    My parents thought if I didn’t know anything about sex and the birds and bees I wouldn’t get into trouble. They were so wrong. It is best to learn at home from responsible parents.

    I told them (3 boys, now men) “Be careful; one mistake now and you’re working at Citgo the rest of your life.” Seems to have worked – especially combined with Mom’s steely “You WILL take responibility for any child!”

    I once had a coworker who had to pay child support for the rest of his life after impregnating a girl; he died at age 44. Some guys never take any personal responsibility for the consequences of engaging in sex with someone they’re not married (or engaged) to.
