The Professor: Tomorrow is the anniversary of the Battle of Marathon in 490 B.C.....significance, class? Student: Yo!! I know! I know! This was the first marathon ever! It started in Boston. A Greek named Zorba won it. Now they run it every four years. Sometimes it's in New York. What? What? The Professor starts a new class at the community college.
After the battle of marathon the Athenians sent a runner back to Athens to report the victory. He ran the whole 26 miles from the battlefield to Athens, delivered the news, then keeled over dead as a doornail.
