The regular commenters seem to me a lot like the characters in Elderberries.
No, don’t ask me which are which! But there seems to be an odd sensation of being trapped here (why, when escape is one click??) among people who will never “get it” the way we do. Every one of the Elderberries characters feels that way about the others.
Still, they vary. A few go nuts (and that’s not even necessary). Ms. Overdunne gets worn out and Dusty lives in chronic frustration. But I value the lesson offered by the ones who are the most willing to just accept the reality and go with the flow. See how a couple of the more mild-mannered ones get along? Evelyn’s hobbies and habits don’t bother a soul, and a retired UPS driver is a pretty inoffensive thing. Nor do they sweat the offensive cads or mindless prattlers any more than they have to.
Sure, they’re less rich as material for punch lines or preposterous situations, but if you want to be comfortable and happy around here, they’re the examples to follow, folks.
