Girl: My grandma and grandpa live here. They gave me this teddy bear. The Professor: Aha! Interesting how the teddy bear got its name. Back in 1902, our President was Teddy Roosevelt. He was quite an outdoorsman and hunter...he was on a hunting trip and spared the life of a bear cub. A cartoonist named Clifford Berryman made a drawing of the event...a toy company then created a "Teddy Bear" doll. There's one other theory about it's origin....in 1903... Woman: The Professor has such a calming influence on children....
Actually the story was he went to a canned bear hunt and the bear was chained to a tree and he refused to shoot it sparing its life.
