Professor: Dusty? I get to ride Esmerelda? Dusty: Heck no! Her ridin' days are long gone... yer horse is over there... Boone: Wow. He's big. Professor: Why's he kicking so violently? Is he angry? Dusty: He's, uh... happy! Yeah! Those are "happy-ta-meet-a-new-friend" kicks!
My mare was more subtle. If you weren’t wise to her, she would hold her breath while being saddled. Snug enuff the uninitiated could get in the saddle. She would then go as slow as she could like she was suffering. Soon as she felt a shift in weight on her back she’d move. And the saddle would move. And she’d shoot ahead of the other riders with the saddle under her and the now initiated rider sitting on the ground.
