I saw where an executive of a drug company was testifying about the high prices of prescriptions. He stated the prices were kept high so the insurance companies would pay for them and that if the prices were lowered, the insurance companies would stop covering them; so it was to a patient’s best interest to keep the prices high.
A drug company in Quebec created a phoney shortage of medication I take last November to triple the price the Province pays. They are going to do it again this November as they just inked a deal with the State of Florida to provide said drug. I informed my pharmacist and he is increasing the stock to try and avoid a shortage. He is also allowing me to circumvent provincial maximums so I have my own stock.

I guess I’m lucky. All of my prescriptions are for old generic drugs, so they are cheap.
