One of my favorite things to do as a kid go to the drive in sit out next to my parents car on a blanket with a pic mosquito repellent and a bunch of snacks from the snack bar.

I remember when cars like that came out. Saw my first when I left work for the day.

I remember when my family would go to the nearest drive-in to see movies…now it’s nothing more than a grocery store and its parking lot!

In ‘67 I went to a drive in with a friend without parents permission and got whipped when I got home. Yes, I mean an actual whip. Think that’s the last time I went to a drive in.

Actually the old Ramblers were the best drive-in cars. The front seat folded back. Years ago we went to a drive-in a Rambler parked in front of us. The seats went down and curtains were put up covering all the windows.

One of the few drive-ins in Oregon (99W) won a digital projector a few years back, which allowed it to stay in business. I think the pandemic has been good for it.

Best part was you could bring your own popcorn, snacks and drinks and management didn’t care.

Don’t have to tell a girl and fella about a drive-in. Or some romantic movie scene. Why the moment they start arriving. You’ll see more kisses in the car than on the screen! Nat “King” Cole. Those Lazy, Crazy Days of Summer!
