Wow. Speaking of pipes, we had an interesting server problem 15ish years ago. I was working at a police department at the time, and about 4:15 someone from a precinct would call up and complain that their network had totally bogged down. We’d remote in and it would look fine. About 15 minutes later, call repeats. We eventually figured out that the precinct admin had put 3D Pipes screen saver ON THEIR SERVER. It would time out, kick on, and the CPU utilization would spike to 100%. The act of our remoting in would turn it off until it timed out again. But well I remember the flying toasters, it was always one of my faves. Currently I use OS-X’s album cover screen saver, but I really like the Blue Screen of Death screen saver — great way to freak out sysadmins who’ve never seen it before!

I prefer “3D Pipes”; it makes me think of Monty Python.

Not only the screen saver but the toasters are enabled. If he doesn’t correct the situation, the strip will be toast.
