Amtrak is less expensive if you buy far enough in advance. Be prepared for a slow go for the above mentioned reasons from LightwarriorK. It will be far more comfortable and much roomier than flying. Along the Northeast corridor, the trains don’t use the same tracks as the freight railroads so service is faster and more reliable.
