by the end of winter our local sparrows who fed all day long at our feeders looked like flying tennis balls…

But the hawks thank you.

Suet, good ol’ chopped beef fat, one of the prime ingredients in my mother’s bread pudding. Hers was more of a slab cake, raisins and currants with just the right spice blend. YUMMM!

Where I come from (Antarctic), fat is considered a good investment!

When it changes their aerodynamics, it’s too much…..

I feed a squirrel an ear of dry corn every morning at 8:00 A M , if I was late he would start screaming. I feel guilty because I feel I did him a real disservice in the long run, man was he ever fat by the spring.

The bird fleet is grounded.

My brother set a sunflower head on the birdfeeder platform. A bluejay came by, fought everyone off, and ate so much he couldn’t fly for several hours.
