DARSAN54, I think you are correct. The reason 45 can stay in place – the reason he got elected in the first place, is because he does represent the real thoughts and feelings of a far-too-large proportion of the American population. There has always been this split – from the beginning, there were those who wanted to co-exist peacefully with the original inhabitants (even asking permission to be there), but more who wanted to wipe them out or at least subjugate them. From the beginning, there have been those who thought enslaving another human being was evil, and they spoke up against it – yet there were more who thought it was fine as long as they were the enslaver. Throughout our history, we have always had those who desire nothing more than to be on top and oppress anyone else not like them – and there have been those who have fought to preserve civil rights for all. I doubt there will ever be an end to this clash, and it isn’t really surprising that it has erupted so publicly. The veil of civility – already straining over the past couple of decades – is finally ripped off.
