Wallace the Brave by Will Henry for March 11, 2016
Transcript:
Wallace: Mom, I'm goin' to Mulroy's Pub. Mrs. McClellan: Mulroy's Pub is for grown-ups. Wallace: Mom! Mrs. Mulroy just got a 1988 Williams, I repeat, Williams double level fun house pinball machine. Mrs. McClellan: You're not going to the pub. Mr. McClellan: I can chaperone.
Can’t fault the kid for wanting to play Fun House, but … well, it wasn’t a 1988 game. And there’s no way to call it a double-level table.
It’s a bit weird to get so appealingly specific in a point of fannish devotion and then get the center of it off. Maybe it’s a tease on fannish specificity meant as an extra joke for pinball fans? Or maybe the strip got partly rewritten at the last minute?
