I totally get this. Good reflexes Spud! Never assume they are dead unless you find the body and remember that they plot revenge while you are sleeping.

What is going on with his mouth in panel 2? That does not look like a tongue but a sock hanging out of his mouth is pretty odd, even for Spud. And after this I can feel sympathy for his mom.

Once again, excellent sound effects, especially the TSH, which is not only an excellent rendering of the sound phonetically, but also appropriately lettered.

After crashing through the window down rains the socks and underwear.

Even though it missed, that was still a pretty good throw. After all, how many people do you know that can immediately whip out their full underwear drawer and hurl it in a straight line with enough force it goes across the room, through the closed window, and land what appears to be a good couple of feet away from the house?

Vacuum cleaners with a long nozzle extension do a great job at a safe range. A big shop vac can quickly take on wolf spiders and tarantulas.

He really HAS a problem with at least that spider. Spiders can move fast but that was a very cool move on its part……

Yes, Spud, I can relate- found a Mud-Dauber in my room and while I know they aren’t aggressive, I went berserk and killed it.

The other night, after I’d turned off most of my lights, I saw something half behind a post-it note in my desk area… it was a horrible black spider. Everyone else was in bed, so I had to nerve myself up to it and kill it… I don’t have crippling arachnophobia (maybe “moderate?”), but that was deeply upsetting so have it so near me and have to deal with it myself. I couldn’t even just my bugcatcher to do it an arm’s length away. *shudders *

Second time reading this I finally notice the shadows of falling underwear and socks as Sterling and Wallace look up!! Excellent details.
