Actually, it’s supposed to expand so much that the Earth will be burned to a cinder, but everyone on it will still die either way, so, also an unnecessary fact.
I discovered Wallace the Brave when the Omaha World-Herald started carrying it a little over a year ago. Wallace and Sherman’s Lagoon are my favorites. I went back and read all of the comics and had great fun finding Will’s signature and reading the comments. But can someone tell me where Will’s signature is on the 2/4/23 (a Saturday) comic? I cannot find it in that one!
The sun will slowly destroy your flesh so that, by the time you’re 50, you’ll be making constant trips to the dermatolagist to have things removed. So… use that sunscreen!
I remember in 3rd or 4th grade, our teacher told the class that in 5 billion years or so, the sun would someday expand to consume the earth. That idea kept me awake at night filled with anxiety for years.
True, the sun will expand and destroy all the inner planets, but I wouldn’t hold my breath while waiting. That’s not due to happen for a few billion years and I doubt we’ll be around to complain about it.

But don’t worry, when this happens the earth will have already been destroyed by the moon thousands of years before.
