EarlWash, yyyguy, and a few others said, basically, if you don’t have cash don’t buy it, or at least pay off the balance each month. That’s all well and good. You’re all correct. That is the best way to use credit cards.
HOWEVER … not everyone is able to do that. What if you’re disabled and/or on a fixed income and need vital medicine? What if there are medical bills that insurance doesn’t cover? What if your car breaks down and it MUST BE repaired because it’s your only means of getting around?
Not everyone is in this predicament because of greed or self-indulgence. Everyone got screwed … even those who played by the rules.
