    Yes, that’s typical of Vista!!

They made a serious mistake when they came out with XP, it really works! It almost ruined their hard earned reputation!!

Microsoft Vista — there’s no future in it.

You know, for only $29.95 a year subscription, you could get an updated driver for that ball. And it won’t work either.

My wife is running Vista on her lap top. Every morning it’s a constant barrage of expletives while she waits for the bleeep thing to boot-up! I need to “upgrade” to Windows 7 to get some peace and quiet again!

Too lazy to read the reviews so I stayed with XP. Does procrastination pay or what?

If (and when) I upgrade from Windows ME, it’s NOT going to be Windows Vista!

Josh… as a current user of Vista and former user of XP pro, NT, ME, 98 etc. the best of the lot is XP. Vista is NOT an upgrade from any of these. I’m a pretty good hacker and can get around most foibles, the only salvation for Vista. I am told that current generation Mac is UNIX based and is running on Intel multi-processor, multi GHz CISC chips. This oughta be dyn-o-mite and worthy of your consideration. A bit pricy though.

    Good luck

Josh and UBUBOBU, I just got a 27” iMac to do graphics. Yes, a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. It is awesome! (Yes, Apple OS 10 is Unix based. You can run Unix command line and the Apple shell together. If you still need to run MS Windows-whatever, you can do that, too)

I noticed that this time no one commented on the inconsistency of having a computer in the Middle Ages. Congratulatilons, Gang, on going with the gag. I love “Wizard of Id” and all its Idiots!

    olmail,

The only upgrade path for XP is to Vista then Windows 7 – you can’t go straight from XP to 7 (I’m an IT professional). So you have to pay MicroHack for 2 upgrades. Vista was/is a piece of dung. My wife went back to college last fall, and I waited to buy her a new laptop until Win7 was out. I wouldn’t wish Vista on my ex-wife. The other 2 PCs in my house are still purring happily along on XP SP3.

@Dora D: Too long, Dora! I had Windows ME since my 40th birthday! (12/13/00) I did bought a computer with a Windows XP software back in 2006, but as the fates would have it, on the day I bought it, it’s hard gave up the ghost! So it was back to square one!

@Others: As I told you before, XP and WIndows 7 security will expire in April of 2014, leaving us no choice BUT to deal with that sorry sorry Windows Vista! So enjoy XP and 7 while you can!

    Josh,

What trash tech papers have you been reading? Microsoft announced this past spring that, due to businesses refusing to upgrade to Vista, that support for XP has been extended until 2019.

And what’s this garbage about Windows 7? It was only released 1 year ago.
