Remember, though, what Linus said: never jump into a pile of leaves with a wet sucker.

The tourists and ‘zonies have gone home, its still warm, and we have our beaches back. This evening I’m going to watch the sunset on beach, hoping to catch a glimpse of the green flash.

I would pile up turkey oak leaves on the playground back at Byrneville Elementary School, then jump in. Re-pile, repeat.

After one of my jumps, one of the teachers got mad and ordered me to pile those leaves back up. She didn’t realize I had made the pile in the first place.

Will those leaves provide enough padding for a guy in a tin suit?

Time for the annual migration of the Leaf-Mound-Gobbly. They resemble mounds of leaves. You jump on them and their mouths close over you and scuttle off to digest you. Be sure you count carefully and have an idea if anyone is missing. (Usually they are squirrels, cats and dogs that vanish.) They follow the Autumnal cycles. Then go somewhere to hibernate.
