The dry, clinical definition of normal is ‘the greatest number of samples.’ If there are 100 people, fifty of whom have blue hats, 30 of whom have red hats, and 20 of whom have yellow hats, then blue would be the norm, or ‘normal.’It’s only popular connotation that altered the word into a judgement on acceptability.
