I’m just curious – Are Peanuts public domain now? I love when comics artists draw tributes to their colleagues, living and deceased, but I’ve always wondered how the legal stuff works about that. Do you guys have an unwritten courtesy agreement that you can draw each other’s characters in one-off parodies, or is there actual permission required?
I’m pretty sure Mr. Schultz wouldn’t mind since i offered to help him write Peanuts some 30 years ago. He called me back and we had a really nice conversation.

Given that Charlie Brown is over 50 now, maybe they can just toss a few back.
