A little gas station I delivered to in Muskogee, OK had an auto parts store next door with a candy dispenser in the front near the windows. One had M&M’s so old and exposed to sunlight they had cracked and split open.

I remember the 10 m&ms! I also remember being upset when they disappeared. Kid problems!

Sorted by color, challenged to blind taste test for the whole stack of correctly identified color. Never got past the first one. Jelly-bellys however were deceptive sometimes, but distinctive.

I liked tan M&Ms. I wish they’d get rid of blue and/or red and bring back tan.

Brown and tan were the original colours. M & Ms were used by the US Army in Europe to provide the troops with chocolate without having to deal with the problems of melted chocolate on one’s hands if faced with a combat situation. Hershey developed the Tropical Bar that had a higher melting temperature than usual for use in the Pacific and tropical theaters.
