Had a boss give us a $10 gift certificate, good at an independent grocery store in his home town (and valid there only) as Christmas bonuses. That grocery store was 35 miles east of where we worked, and work was 25 miles east of where I lived… boss couldn’t understand why I didn’t drive so far away to redeem my coupon.
