    As a former English teacher, I have to stop myself from correcting friends’ grammar and spelling mistakes on FB….but I DO call out memes with misspellings/grammar issues.

    Language and dialects change. At a certain point, texting language may just be considered a variation and people will get over it.

    In the humbling process of learning a second language, I have learned to have more empathy for the mistakes people make in grammar. Both written and verbal. Ultimately, the goal is to communicate clearly. For the most part, we don’t want people to stop trying to communicate.
