Every old standing stone edifice seems to have some religious connotation. I walk a trail near a WW2 era dock and sand and gravel pit. The dock is long gone but the concrete towers and bunkers, worn down, remain. Once a group of tourist asked me about those old relics. I told them of an ancient local tribe and some made-up gibberish about their religious practices. They bought it for way too long before getting that I was putting them on. Finally I told them it was an abandoned sand and gravel pit………maybe I should write scripts for The History Channel……
