they add new words every year, like omg, lol, blogosphere…but, some of the words at the spelling bee is words that were disused decades ago.
I still have a vocabulary list for myself. I figure learning new words is one of the best ways to keep learning. And I like to spell them correctly, too!
Future spelling bee: spell “L. O. L.”
