I was first introduced to glasses in fifth grade. Didn’t officially start wearing them until a few years after high school; didn’t even wear contact lenses between those years.
Wore glasses since 10. Made worse by the fact that I was the only one in the family that needed them. I’d go to family reunions, weddings and funerals, and with exception of a few of the older folks, I was the only one with glasses for distance vision. I was a sensitive kid, and this didn’t help. For some reason, I had poor eyes. But I kicked the glasses and contacts when I got lasik surgery, well worth the money.
Was so proud that I was the only one in the family not having to wear glasses. That is, until I was about 14. Had to have reading glasses. And now in my old age, have to wear glasses all the time.
I wore glasses constantly from 10-60 or so, then had cataract surgery and, now that I have fixed focus lenses, I don’t need glasses anymore, except for reading.

I got them at 9, and I had to have bifocals, too. I feel for Henri Lee…

Got my glasses when I was 8, optometrist told my parents I would be blind before I turned 18. Still going.

There’s one question I need to know. What age did Zack learn to wear glasses?

Same for me, Lamberger — only I’m not quite ready for surgery, yet!
