What was the soup of day [before yesterday]?

more like stretched out pea….

There’s a shadow hanging over me

Oh, yesterday came suddenly

Wait till the sign says Soup of last week.

Some soups actually get better with time.

For me, pea soup could go from bad to worse.

I never understood why people like pea soup. I find it yucky.

peas porridge hot/peas porridge cold/peas porridge in the pot /nine days old…

there’s some like it hot/ and some like it cold/but none like it in the pot/nine days old [Granny Cochrane taught me that one 7 decades ago or more]

Add a ham bone and some bay leaves. I would be good with that for several days.

Guy goes into a short-order diner and orders chicken soup. Waitress yells to the kitchen: “Bowl of Chicken”. Guy changes his mind and orders pea soup.

Waitress yells to the kitche: “Hold the chicken, make it pea”.

Ah, the infamous soupe du jour

Yesterday all my troubles seemed so far away.

“Peas porridge in the pot, nine days old.”

Better.
