    corded phone will continue to work when the power is out and the cell towers are out too.

    shades_is_here.. corded phones work on electric power… just not the power at your house… 48 volts…. in the U.S.

    the power is provided by the phone company’s power supply.

    Phil – there is an app called “Lookout” that will help you find a lost cell phone and show you a map (on the web) of where it is.I have it on my (and my wife’s) phones. Works pretty good!Also if you lost it and the battery is about to die, it will send it’s location to the server.I don’t work for these guys – I just like their app. It’s for android but I think it’s available for iPhone too

    My rotary has been on duty for about 30 years now. It worked for a long time before that with my parents. Old can be good.

    Although there is a lot of truth in today’s strip, unfortunately the “old reliable” wired phone isn’t always so. The devices are dependable; it’s the infrastructure that concerns me…
