People, please don’t let your dogs chase squirrels. I live by a big park and I see it all the time — in fact, about 95% of the time, it’s the people egging the dogs on, trying to get them to chase the squirrels for their (the human’s) amusement.

I’ve seen so many badly injured squirrels, dying slow and horrible deaths, just for the entertainment of cruel, heartless people. I never know what to do. Sometimes I think I should find a rock or something and bash the squirrel and put it out of its misery, but I just can’t do it (plus there are no rocks around anywhere). I did find one badly injured squirrel that was trying so hard to live that I came back daily and fed it and, thankfully, it recovered. If I could have caught it and taken it to a vet I would have.

More appropriate would be 5 walnuts. What’s a squirrel going to do with money?

If Ziggy’s paying for a squirrel chase, it better a long one.
