Adam: So, "Coffee to Go-Go" doesn't mean lightning-fast service? Man: Nope. It means attractive young women serving coffee in go-go boots and cute outfits. Adam: Well, that explains a couple of things. Man: Such as? Adam: Why it's so crowded in here, even though the coffee tastes terrible. Man: And? Adam: Why my mind is telling me to leave, but my legs ain't listening.

“Debbie Duz Donuts” was a topless coffee shop. Sex only sells so much. No longer in business.

Oh for heaven’s sake! I can believe that for a bar but for a coffee shop? That’s utterly disgusting. These men will come in for a lousy cup of coffee served by some bimbo but at home gripe at their wives if the coffee isn’t great.

Doctor Toon - It sounds like you missed out on donuts and women.
Tink1300 over 15 years ago
Bet if that was me serving donuts and coffee in this outfit I have on, think of the number of men then (not to mention the number of divorces)!
Sharon_ski over 15 years ago
Pathetic! He even admits that the coffee is terrible.

Love this one.

having a cute woman might entice me to try a place, but it won’t keep me coming back there. it’s the product that interests me, not the decoration.

as for the toon, adam’s mind IS telling him to leave. the legs will follow instructions soon enough.

You women are funny! NO* women *EVER look at the Chippendale dancers, NONE of you EVER look at Playgirl magazine, NONE of you EVER drooled over the shirtless guy on that old Coke commercial…….
RIGHT!!!!razorback2824 over 15 years ago
Of course. Don’t you know that all women are asexual?
At least we now know who are the insecure ones around here.
fritzoid Premium Member over 15 years ago
JFri, the truth is that men simply ARE more susceptible to that sort of thing than women. This isn’t to say that no women ever ogle men, but if Playgirl and Chippendale dancers were as attractive a diversion for women as their counterparts are to men, you’d see a lot more people imitating that business model.
I’m all in favor of women having the OPTION of behaving as badly as men on this point, but I doubt it will ever become the norm.
But t’was ever thus, and ever will be. It’s as much (if not moreso) a matter of hardwiring in the male brain as it is cultural conditioning, and isn’t something that’s going to go away through “education”; men objectify the objects of their sexual desire. Straight men objectify women, and gay men objectify other men. It’s nothing personal, ladies…

Hey, fritz, I’m just plain sick of all men being painted with the same broad brush! Just trying to drive home a fine point with a sledgehammer!

It’s not his legs that keep him there…..try another body part

My first reaction to this comic was the same as the first comment here… Men! But fritzoid, I think you said it all. Men and women ARE different, and we need to learn to accept some things about each other, whether we like it or not… I’m still working on that!

After a couple thousand years of “Why can’t women be more like men?”, it’s refreshing that we can now turn the tables and ask “Why can’t men be more like women?”, but in the long run neither is an option, and I doubt many people would be satisfied with the results if either came to pass…
There have been times when I’ve been walking with my girlfriend and an attractive woman has passed us. On occasion, she’ll say “You got a nice look, did you?” (I should stress that I don’t LEER or anything), but my response is “I’m a guy. OF COURSE I noticed her, but that doesn’t mean I’m comparing you to her.”

Hi cleo! Welcome back.
Doc You mean you aren’t in that crowd drinking coffee?
Good! :-D
johnnydoc5 over 15 years ago
Yuck! Don’t like coffee, it would have to have something else in it for me to go in there. Then I might enjoy the place a little.

Ladies, ladies, ladies: Blaming men for being the way nature intended is like blaming women for having breasts - it makes no sense. Do you feel guilty for being the way women are, and do you wish you were more like men? Of course not. Well, most of us don’t feel guilty about the way we respond to certain stimuli because that’s the way we are programmed naturally to respond. There is a biological imperative at work here (just as there is in most females’ responses to babies) - there IS a reason, you know, why the “World’s Oldest Profession” is the world’s oldest profession.

That’s why I’m glad you aren’t with Adam!
You Lady knows a good thing when she sees it.
And you do too.

Why can’t this new shop be the equivalent of a magazine with the sexy pictures and quality articles? I don’t think eye-catching advertising has to mean no substance to the product.
Not that we want Adam to keep going back and getting into trouble…
