Well, during M*A*S*H, one of the characters was B.J., also later revealed only to be just to be the two letters…

So many questions were raised by this interaction. First of all, if your name is K, could you hear if someone said your name incorrectly as Kay? I’m not thinking you could, so K bringing up how her name is spelled sounds like she’s just trying to engage in conversation. But does a bit of a woe-is-me behavior to this.

What I’m wondering then is, does she dislike the name or does she enjoy being able to do the woe-is-me routine?

Is she part of the “Men in Black” team?

I love it when you meet people with these long african names. You ask them to spell it, and they give you a blank look.

What shocks Penny usually makes Kat smile.

i knew a woman whose middle name was K. She always had to fill out legal forms with her middle name as “K” (-only.)

I went to grade school and junior high with someone whose first name was a single letter. It was a small town, so you’d think there wouldn’t be any teachers who hadn’t heard that there was a kid coming along whose first name was a single letter, but every year it took a while for the message to get through when they were taking roll.

Causes a lot of issues…..she always responds when she hears the word….O..kay. So I will just let myself out….K!

At starbucks or other places where you have to leave your name, I tell them “L”. They always spell L as ELLA, ELLIE, and once AL.
