I saw this coming, back when businesses/government departments just started becoming computerized. I’d ask for something and would be told,“The computer won’t let me do that.”.
When my late loving wife died, her employer listed her as terminated. That was bad enough, but they owed her wages and they issued a check in her name and I couldn’t cash it. I had to beg them to re-instate her employment status because her pay was direct deposited. They finally did and then they changed her back to terminated status. I know it is how companies do things but there should have been a nicer way to list her, especially for the fact she went to work the day she ended up in the ER and she died 2 days later.
